Such a slacker
I am such a slacker! I just rarely have time to post about anything anymore. I wanted this to be a usi blog, but I don't have time! I'll try to post an update about our family once a week!

Bowie.
I know. I know. Didn't I just post about Bowie? But seriously, he rocks hard.
Sooo, there is this 80's movie, that some of you may totally hate, and roll your eyes at me. I am a super nerd. My best friend doesn't understand me either. She thinks that I think to much? Cause I like movies like:
Labyrinth.(and dark crystal, and the last unicorn, and other totally dorky stuff) Remember that one? Bowie was the goblin king, and he was "in love" with the girl. A young and beautiful Jennifer Connelly. I know. I know. I promise I don't play dungeons and dragons all day, I hate comics, and I do not write bad poetry about love, and angst. Anyhooo, David Bowie.
Some songs to try out: WARNING they are 80's synthesized.
"as the world falls down" David Bowie
"within you" David Bowie
also, a bonus:
"space oddity" David Bowie

Father's Day.
In honor of father's day, (im a little late) I have a few of my dad's favorite songs. My dad grew up on the Navajo reservation, he wasn't exposed to a lot of music at that time. He would here mostly this.
However, as he grew up and moved to San Diego, he started listening to:
David Bowie
Led Zeplin
jackson browne
Jimi Hendrix
The Eagles
Miles Davis
Weather Report
NOW he listens to:
Linkin Park
Miles Davis
George Strait
Lifehouse
Coldplay
It is really cool how music changes, and how tastes change. Happy Father's Day!

Beatles.
Recently the InfoCom convention was in town. It is a fun week for me, because Pete (my husband) gets all kinds of "comps" and we get to go to fun parties, and usually free shows. Well, this year, one of the vendors bought out the show The Beatles"Love by Cirque Du Soleil. It is a rule that a free show is always at least 25% better than one you pay for! However, The Beatles show was AMAZING! I would pay to see it again, and that is the highest compliment I can give because the tickets ain't cheap! The sound system alone is worth it. The music gets into your bones. I am a huge beatles fan, ever since I was about 7 and my mom played her "let it be" LP on the record player. Hearing of course the title song, and then "across the universe" I started buying Beatles Albums on tape. I now have tons of their stuff on MP3.Needless to say, I was excited to see the show. The show doesn't have a specific story, more like scenes of the influence of the music. It is very artsy fartsy. Pete isn't that into creativity and art, (a left brain), but he still loved the show as much as I did. If you aren't into The Beatles try out some songs I love.
"Blackbird" on the album The Beatles
"Eight Days a Week" & "No Reply" on the album Beatles for Sale
"Elenor Rigby" & "I'm only sleeping" on the Revolver album
"something" & "Here comes the Sun" on the album Abbey Road
and
" My Guitar Gently Weeps" (this is a George Harrison song, as is here comes the sun)
The Beatles changed modern Rock and Roll, they brought about the idea of writing and recording their own songs. Not just ones written for them. They were relevant in every trend that surrounded them, sometimes creating their own fads. I love the beatles, and I recommend seeing the show!
"THE BEATLES, LOVE"
